40 Kumasi Magazine Artisans Earn Professional Certifications From Suame Technical Institute

40 artisans from Kumasi Magazine earned professional certifications from the Suame Technical Institute this week.

At the 20th Graduation ceremony of the Suame Technical Institute held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, the determined 40 artisans were among 264 students from other technical and vocational disciplines who came out with flying colours.

Under the theme "Global Migration Opportunities - The Role Of TVET Institutions", the 20th graduation ceremony of the Suame Technical Institute was graced by the President of the Ashanti Region Ghana National Association of Garages, Chairman Alhaji Mohammed Nuhu Luqman Appiedu.

Acting as the guest speaker for the ceremony, Chairman Luqman underscored the importance for auto mechanics within the Kumasi Suame Magazine enclave to upgrade their knowledge in their various fields.

Chairman Luqman also urged members from the 31 zones in and around Suame Magazine to take advantage of the periodic training programmes the association organises.

"Technical and Vocational skill is a very profitable venture. Unfortunately, we artisans have underrated our own skills for a very long time," Chairman Luqman said during his presentation.

"From our large population, to see just 40 artisans from Kumasi Suame Magazine sign up to upgrade their knowledge and skills in 2024 is disheartening.

"Knowledge is wealth, Knowledge is power, Knowledge is royalty. Artisans who have trained and upgraded at the various TVET Institutions are more knowledgeable than those who have not.

"We should try as much as possible to apply the knowledge gained from these institutions," Chairman Luqman added.
